Today, women are more qualified than ever and naturally strive to balance career and family. However, they continue to choose from a narrow selection of less-well-paid occupations, and usually come to a standstill on the career ladder at an earlier stage than men.
What are the obstacles in the professional lives of women? Part-time work, marginal employment (mini jobs) and taking care of family responsibilities are still the most effective career killers in most branches of trade. Continuity and presence at the workplace on the other hand, are more frequently rewarded in companies. What opportunities do women have? What do companies offer them and where is action called for? What can women themselves do for their occupational development?
