The maritime economy is of far-reaching importance and is attributed a special role in the competitiveness of our country. With a coastline of more than 1,000 km, Schleswig-Holstein in particular has traditionally been characterized by its maritime character and is still home to numerous companies along the entire value chain, which is why the industry continues to be attributed special relevance.
The proximity to the Hamburg metropolitan region as well as to the North and Baltic Sea ensures that our region also benefits from the maritime economy. Whether in the port industry, shipbuilding or maritime services - many companies take advantage of the geographical location of our region and enjoy the benefits of the water-side infrastructure. In order to strengthen our competitiveness and consolidate our position within the industry, we must continue to secure this unique locational advantage.
You provide services for the maritime industry and have a concern? We offer a wide range of assistance and support in realizing your success. As the business development agency of the districts of Dithmarschen and Steinburg and the city of Brunsbüttel, it is our central task to secure and actively develop the region as a business location. In doing so, we understand business development as securing the future of the region's companies and jobs.
